That's interesting: I sent a review to Trip Advisor a couple of weeks ago about myhomeindijon and received a thank you email, which said that if they found it to be appropriate, I would hear from them in a few days. Never heard from them, and my review is not on TA. Wonder what's going on?

My husband and I recently returned from France where we spent 10 days in the lovely city of Dijon. Dijon is Paris without the attitude and the prices. The food is superb and the people delightful. It is a foodies paradise. The central market, which is open three mornings a week, is enough to make one salivate. The restaurants, from Michelin starred to humble bistros, are enough to make one gain ten pounds.

We rented a huge studio apartment from Coco (www.myhomeindijon.com) and her home became our home. We could fall out of bed and into the Ducal Palace and the Central Market. The apartment came equipped with everything anyone could ever want including a computer. I was even able to make aioli using the hand held blender that I found in the closet.

In addition to stocking the refrigerator and the pantry with more than enough to get you started, Coco picks you up and deposits you back at the Dijon train station. She is a whirlwind of charm and a natural born "innkeeper".

Dijon is not a city to be missed. It is an easy 1 and 1/2 hour ride from Paris on the fast train. If you go, and you should, be sure to make My Home In Dijon yours too.

That report is in the TA Forum, it is not a review. I submitted a separate Review for their review section.
I finally heard from TA yesterday and they said that private properties could not be reviewed. What is very strange is that there is a review of myhomeindijon in the
Review Section. It was posted in September.
I am not going to call TA's attention to this because then they would probably remove it. One review is better than none.

That's probably why mine was not posted.

Grandmere,
Check and see if your review is in your Pending Review section of TA. That way you will know if it has disappeared into the abyss or if you still have a chance of having it posted.
Mine disappeared into the abyss after I got a thank you email from TA. I did get a review posted on Slow Travel. They understand rentals.

Bonsoir mes amies! You are such a great support thank you! ><

TA might change their policy about rentals (soon I hope) They asked me my email address to let me know when rentals reviews are available. Maybe they have too many requests for rentals.
I remember Rachael who found me on Fodors and posted on TA where she mentioned the "problem" about reviews (in 2005!)
http://tinyurl.com/4fo8ao
and grandmère, you had posted on her topic. There would be no problem if I had a proper B&B but since I do not live on the premises... The only review I got seems to be in the "before you go" section, not too bad!
Never mind, if someone makes a search, "my home" will be found!

Tucsonbabe I hope you left your cast for good now!

Coco,
Wow that is some thread on TA.Obviously, we are going to have a great deal of competition in 2010.
I don't feel so badly now that I know that others are as frustrated with TA as I am.
The cast is still on and I am not happy about that. I will send you an email later.

Coco - word on the Street is that you are scoping out some property in one of the wine villages south of Dijon

Could we have a Chez Coco II?

Or is it just a rumor at this point?

Book me for Feb 31st, 2009 please - i'll be using my rain check from last month

I wonder who told you that Pal :-?
If I could, I'd love to have another apartment in the same mansion. There are so many good ones South of Dijon already ...

Someday you may have the whole mansion and call it Chez Coco! Bonnes Vacanelles. Sylvain t'a dit <hello>. Il est encore mignon, comme toi.

I'm not sure the BNP bank would let me have the ground floor they use as offices... Never mind, I'm already happy with one apartment
Passe le bonjour à Sylvain de ma part et bon week end!

tucsonbabe, I too must second your thoughts on Dijon, although we weren't able to stay at Coco's apartment she recommended another with Beatrice at www.dijon- rentahome.com which was lovely. I love your quote that it is "Paris without attitude" Very true.

Maybe you could send your review to www.slowtrav.com as they do accept private vacation rental reviews and is a site with wonderful information for travellers and renters of private accomodation.

Dear Mariebut,
My review of MYHOMEINDIJON is posted on Slowtrav under Burgundy. One of Coco's former guests (Companion) on TA solved the Tripadvisor mystery. He told me that Tripadvisor is now owned by Expedia. Somehow, his review slipped through the cracks.I was not so lucky. My review was purged as it was for a private property.

Slowtrav has also been sold although I do not know to whom. Its founder is starting a new website Sloweurope.com.

Glad you liked Dijon. It is a magical place. Hope you can get into Coco's little slice of heaven the next time you go. We can't wait to get back.

Cher Coco:

On the other thread you said you were heading for the station to meet folks and for a change they were French

begets the Q - what nationalities do come - i know a lot of Yanks from comments here - but British or who else?

And any comments in general of different nationalities and what they expect or - well you know what i mean. Are Germans really so demanding, etc. Do the English nick the TP? Etc
