Decision between two Rome hotels?

Trying to decide between the Scalinata di Spagna and the Inn at the Spanish Steps for a six day stay next April. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I saw a bad review of Scalinata at tripadvisor.com. You might want to read it. Didn't see anything about the Inn at the Spanish Steps.

If you want to try B&Bs or Apartment rentals, see:

www.b-b.rm.it (B&B Assoc of Rome)
or
www.comfortitalia.com

Both reputable agencies, with a good selection in the center of Rome.

There several other hotels that have gotten a lot of good reviews on this site.

If you've never been to Rome consider the following:
Fountain of Trevi to Spanish Step is only 15 minute walk.

Fountain of Trevi to Piazza Navona is less than 15 minute (more like 10 minutes) walk.

Anything inside that triangle would be considered the same general area and prime for sight seeing.
You are asking about 2 different type hotels. One is a 4 star luxury ( The Inn) and the other much more like a pensione, though quite nice. I hated the climb though when i was at the bottom of the Steps and tired

We just spent 4 nights at the Scalinata and were not impressed. It runs about $330/night including a non-optional very basic breakfast. If the Inn at the Spanish Steps runs close to the amount..I'd say try the Inn first. We opted for the Scalinata because of rave reviews and Rough Guide said it was the one three star hotel to splurge on in Rome. We were disappointed. Disregard the web site..it is deceptive. See my review in the hotel section. Also..find the elevator in the metro station..it's alot of steps to keep climbing at the end of a day sight seeing. Make your reservation for the Borghese Gardens before you leave the states if you want to see them.
