Daytrips from Dublin
Hi,
There is a website called railtoursireland.com that has my interest. They offer several rail tours from Dublin to other parts of Ireland. I am mostly interested in the tour that goes from Dublin to the Wicklow mountains and Glendalough. I amy also possibly be interested in the tour that goes to Cork, Blarney Castle, Cobh, and the Queenstown Story Heritage Center.
All of their tours sound really great, but my time is limited. I will be staying in Dublin and there is a lot to do and see right in the city, but I would also like to take one or two day trips to other parts of Ireland. I know Greyline also does the Wicklow tour. Has anyone had any experience with this rail tours company?

It sounds a little expensive. 29 euros for a day trip to Glendalough. The St Kevins service is only 20.

Personally I would go to Glendalough, but stay in Laragh and walk along the footpath to the Monastic city, ideally in the evening when there are no tourists around. Then the next day, walk back up to Glendalough and walk around the upper lake. One of my favourite parts of Ireland.

Hi Jeremy,
thanks for your reply. I know it costs more than taking the bus, but we really enjoy train rides. After booking this I did realize that I would have liked to spend more time in the area then this tour allows, but there is nothing I can do about that now. I guess that is why I will assume I will be back in the hopefully near future.
