I would think it goes without saying that a week in Turin is not too long for someone interested in not only what Turin uniquely has to offer, but also in the history of Italy, and by extension, much of modern Europe.
I realize that a lot of people actually don't have any particular reason for going anywhere other than "to travel" and I don't see anything wrong with that. But I wouldn't °advise° anybody to go to another city for the sake of going to another city if they were in fact interested to be in Turin -- which is far from being a boring or unattractive or unpleasurable place. In fact, it is one of the nicer places to be in modern Europe in terms of food, wine, intellectual activity and outdoor recreation. Having spent both a week in Turn and a week in Munich and a week in Switzerland, Turin is the only one I'd be thrilled to return to for an extended stay.

I have been to Turin and agree that it is a really really nice city- so on that I agree. I guess it's just that northern Italy is highly industrialized and much more economically advanced that most of Italy - just not as charming to me as more old-worldish towns like Rome.
But agree Turin is often sadly overlooked.
