Day Trips from Paris

While visiting Paris on our honeymoon, we want to take a trip out to the D day beaches and also do a trip to Versailles. Can anyone recommend a good tour company. There are lots on line but it is hard to tell who is better so I'd like some recommendations. Also would like to do some escorted walking tours in Paris. Recommendations? Thanks!

We did a day trip to Normandy using ParisTrip and it was great.
There were 8 passengers in a van with a great English speaking guide.

We've always used ParisVision and have been very pleased - day trip to Bruges, another to Barbizon, Fontainebleau and Vaux-le-Vicomte (included lunch), and a half day to Giverny. You can go more economically on your own, but the tour is just so efficient with commentary and tours in English.

Note that it's not necessary to book ahead. There are usually brochures in the hotel lobby and someone at the front desk will phone for a reservation for you.

The two main tourbus companies are Parivision and Cityrama

Note that many people plan solo trips to Versailles. There is a train fro Paris that goes directly (walking distance there, it's only ~30 minutes from downtown Paris, it's cheap, by going early you can miss the bus crowds by going early, youcan get the same tour of the insides, and you can linger longer in the massive and beautiful gardens. Give it a thought...we can help
