day trip from London to Paris- help

Trying to do a day trip to London from Paris but cant find anything less than $270 RT on eurostar for second class and $420 RT for first class. My guidebook says these tixs should be available for much less. Anybody have any ideas thanks.

Hi,
you may ask your travel agent for something like "Euro-Rail-Passport" or
maybe check the Thalys trains too.
Otherwise you may check also flights with Virgin Express or Ryan Air.
More questions
Shain/Germany/Düsseldorf

Ask for the rate for trains leaving before 8 AM and returning after 8 PM - used to be a lot cheaper but you had to ask for it - they didn't just offer it. For more Paris information e-mail me: [email protected]

First try calling Eurostar direct (do a search on the forum for 'Eurostar' for the phone number).

Also try the website for Paris Vision or the other major tour company in Paris (can't remember the name?). I saw daytrips for considerably less on the site....

I also noticed that some cheap fares aren't posted very far in advance. Perhaps someone else on the board knows more?

Try Britain Shrinkers. We are going to London in April and booked a day trip from London to Paris with them. For two people, RT it was only $360.06. This price includes a discount if you book on-line. I believe the address is www.britainshrinkers.com. If that's not right, let me know and I'll try to find it. This is for standard class.
