Day Trip from Florence

We will be staying in Florence and wanted to take a day trip to Pisa. Any thoughts? Is it feasible to do in an afternoon and evening to see it at night...then go back to Florence to stay?

You can do this, but IMO Siena would make a much more interesting daytrip if you haven't been there already.

Kf - It's just over an hour by train, so no problem.

For timetables see:

Hope this helps ...

Hi K,

Many people combine a visit to the walled town of Lucca with a visit to Pisa.

Check out Vinci as well. Great museum with Leonardo's inventions and a beautiful town in general. It's about 30 miles outside of Florence.

It's very easy! There is a also a bus that connects the two, and runs on a regular basis throughout the day.

We really enjoyed our little trip to Pisa. The tower is situated in a beautiful park-like area that reminded me of "The Mall" in D.C.
