Danube River cruise: Budapest to Prague. How are the water levels?

I posted this several days ago on the cruises bosrd, but no one there answered.
Maybe someone here on Europe board can help.

Several years ago, they were so low, the cruises were busses! Any drought problems this year? Going in eraly September. Thanks

I live near to the Danube in Austria.
The current water level is lower than normal due to the hot and mostly dry summer. Parts of southern Germany seems to have had more rain than we in eastern Austria. This has helped to keep the water level at n OK level.
Fortunately, the ships still seem to have no problems to navigate the river.

I saw 5 ships in Durnstein several days ago. One of them is a boat that normally cruises from / to the Black Sea area.

I have heard and seen the terrible times that travelers have experienced in the past when some ship companies fail to advise their future passengers of having to be bussed.

Hopefully we get some more rain to keep the water level up!

Remember that your boat will not go to Prague. The Danube does not pass there. You will take a bus from perhaps Passau or Linz or another nearby town on the Danube to Prague.

Thanks Molker. Yes, we go overland from Nuremberg. It is raining cats & dogs here in North Florida right now.
