Danube cruise guide book?

Does a good guide book to the Danube River exist? We're going on a cruise from Budapest to Regensburg with a post-cruise visit to Prague and I'd like to get a good guide book. Does anything exist?

We have been given a guide to the river areas and towns on each river cruise we've taken.

I don't know of a guide book that covers everything you want, but Fodor has guides for the individual countries.

Why don't you call your river cuise company and ask if they'll be giving you one? It would be nice to have it ahead of time.

If you are on AMA, they will give you a book. I bought a copy, but can't find it now.

BTW: the Danube isn't romantic. It's basically a canal with locks et al.

River cruises don't dock near the town(s), so pay for excurisons or hoof it.

Our river cruises in Eutope stopped in the center of the towns with the exceptions being some of the cities like Vienna. We took a subway near the dock into the city center there.

We also stopped in areas where we could walk into towns if we desired, with the exception being Vienna. We were also given a wonderful book that told us all about all the places we were going to visit along the Danube. We were on a Uniworld Cruise.
