Keep an eye out - you might happen upon a street shoot, some staging prep or some of the entourage. Here's a report:

Film production is now in Lincoln:
http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/thi...icle306180.ece
and has been met by a nun's protest:
http://u.tv/newsroom/indepth.asp?pt=e&id=9012
furthermore, the book was called, and I quote, <i>a load of old tosh"</i>.
Oh my, where will it end!
Next stop, Scotland.

And you would know that...how?
Are you psychic, or just another intolerant religious zealot?
Many poorly written pieces have transitioned from their original form into stellar visual stories/performances, some of which went on to be captured on celluloid, tape, film, etc.

It'll end at the Louvre, bluestar. Haven't you read the book?? (Ha ha).
I am up in Edinburgh next week and hope that they don't go there then as I certainly don't want to be ordered about by some film types and a bald Richie Cunningham.
Even though I enjoyed the book, it was pretty hopelessly written and I'm disappointed at the casting of Sir Ian McKellen as the ubiquitous and stereotypical eccentric Englishman (Teabag or someone, wasn't it?). The book had him saying things an Englishman never would like "ATM" instead of cashpoint and "Cellphone" instead of mobile. No doubt he'll end up as ridiculous as Donald Pleasance in a James Bond film.

Regardless of quality, or otherwise, of the book - the fact remains that it has been read by many millions the world over. The film will also be viewed by even more millions and will inevitably end up a box-office hit.
Anyway, anything that hacks off the Vatican can't be all that bad.

I do not welcome film crews in Paris, since production companies tend to assume that they own the city (especially American production companies), and they interfere with the daily lives of the Parisians themselves. It would be nice if they did all their work on a sound stage, and left Paris to its residents and visitors.

AnthonyGA,
You may not welcome film crews, but trust me the city officials LOVE film crews....film crews, especially AMERICANS, pay a lot of $$$ to film in the streets, etc... and by the way, for the time that they are shooting in a street, they DO own the street, that's what they pay for!

Well, it's a very silly badly written book but no doubt people will flock to it.
It will be a pity if Rosslyn Chapel is damaged.
Westminster Abbey have refused to let them film.
I remember when a Hollywood team wanted to film Notre Dame.
They were refused and said, "But it would put your cathedral on the map!"

I thought it was Lincoln cathedral which was standing in for Westminster - maybe they are using different bits of Lincoln & Winchester to stand in for different bits of Westminster ?
On the news last night they showed Tom Hanks fans waiting outside his hotel, which was a lowly 3 star ! Presumably the best Lincoln has to offer.
