D Day tour from the Memorial Museum in Ocotber

Has anyone taken this tour where they pick you up at the train station and you get to see the museum and go on a 5 hour tour before being dropped back at the station? If so, would you recommend it? It is a mini van with a bilingual guide. If anyone has experience with this tour, I'd appreciate a comment. I'd like to hear what you thought of taking the train from Paris as well.

thank you

Care to provide the company? It's kind of hard to comment on your question when you mention nothing other than it leaves the train station and returns you there.

As for the train ride from Paris, it was a breeze. We arrived at CDG, picked up our luggage after immigration/customs, went to the train station, bought a ticket for the RER B, transferred to Line E at GDN, arrived at St. Lazare. Waited on the platform for our train and boarded. The arrival at Caen was even easier. We rented a car for 2.5 days, so making the trip without luggage and finding your way would be a breeze.

gaelle is talking about the tour run by the Peace Memorial museum in Caen:

While we did not do this tour, I did explore it for our recent trip. For us, we ultimately decided not to do it, but we had several days in the Normandy region.

The only review of the actual tour I could find is here:

http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...y.html#REVIEWS

It's on the second page if you sort by date and is from May of this year. You could PM the poster of the review...I have often done that.

HTH!
