Theater-goers in London, don't miss "War Horse"
We had one night to see a play in London, asked a drama-fanatic friend who'd seen 15 plays in 10 days! He said the one that stayed with him was "War Horse."
We chose that one, got same-day tickets, and were blown away.
You'll never forget it, and when it comes to the US (as I can't imagine it won't), you'll know what the excitement is about.

It is very moving ... and it's a little weird to be so moved by structures of gauze and bamboo (or whatever), as much as by performances. The director and "puppeteer" (term doesn't begin to cover what he did) did an incredible job.

This is a very old thread. Not sure how it got resurrected. I saw "War Horse" recently in New York. It's been playing there for more than a year and won the Tony Award for best drama.
I "liked" the play--but I LOVED the puppetry. Truly incredible.

Songdoc: wordsmith topped it to ask if War Horse is still worth seeing.
wordsmith: >>other suggestions<< is pretty difficult since you don't say what sort of plays/musicals you enjoy. Plus you aren't traveling until Sept and many shows will close/open between now and then. A bit closer to your dates start a thread asking for recent recommendations.
