The name doesn't sound quite right to me- I wonder if you have some of the letters in "Ciddy" wrong. This could be distorting your search.
I drove past the airport last weekend and noticed a motel very close but I didn't take in the name. Where did you hear about it?

Surprisingly enough, it is the correct hotel name!

Unfortunately, there don't appear to be reviews of it available online, but it does show up in plenty of online booking sites.

Hi
don't know this one, but Toby Motels are low - middle range, normally with a restaurant.

Thanks Trevor. My plan had been to stay at Mount Sorrel hotel in Barry but because of some rugby match the whole of that area is completely booked up - travelodge and travelinns included!
I had a feeling Cwm-ciddy was probably not brill but was hoping it wasn't too much of a slum! This is meant to be a special treat for mum's Christmas present (and recovering from a nasty bout of shingles) to take her to visit her sister in the area. She's never yet stayed in a hotel and it doesn't seem like she's going to now!!! Ah well.

After travelling through the area in question, l remembered that there is a hotel names the Copthorne situated in Culverhouse Cross. It is a very nice hotel, and is again about 15-20 minutes from the airport. It's on the retail park in Culverhouse Cross, opposite the HTV studios if you have a map. Here is a website giving info on it: http://www.superbreak.com/home.cfm?G...;content=hotel
Hope that helps!
