Disappearing answers?

I recently posted "Where to go in Latin America?". When I went to bed last night I noticed a great answer from Jill_Brazil. This morning I went to read it properly but it is not there. What happened?

I think as other questions are posted yours gets pushed lower on the postings (don't know how many Fodor's has - I've only gone as far as 350).. it can't be a date issue - try just going on until you arrive at your original question.

When looking for one of your posts, the easiest way is to do a search for your screen name.

I don't think Jim is saying that his post disappeared, but rather that the reply from Jill_Brazil did. I can find Jim's post - but no Jill_Brazil reply.

The only time that I've seen this happen myself is when there has been something in the "disappearing post" that contravenes the forum rules (advertizing, offensive language etc.) and has apparently been removed by the site administrator.

Or - maybe it went into the same black hole in the universe that all those disappearing socks in the dryer go to - LOL.

I think I saw that post. It probably was removed because she is a travel agent and she listed her website and/or other contact info. Maybe fodors removed it because it was like a solicitation or maybe others flamed her or something and she had it removed.

Mrwunrfl - Are you really sure you saw that post? It wasn't a " beer in the morning " illusion??? (LOL)

- Please and Thank You!!

I just had a thought hiccup. My apologies to all of you and especially Mrwunrfl.

The previous post was a tongue in cheek reference to a recent humorous (we thought) exchange on manners (or lack thereof).

I'm sure that Mrwurfl saw the post in question and I'm equally sure that he has a very wicked sense of humour.
