Customs

Can I bring back vaccum packed cheeses and meat from Italy ? Thank you

No meat. They do allow pure foie gras, but if the tinned meat contains any pork products, it is confiscated. Cheese is ok.

Only hard cheeses are allowed. Not Feta etc.

Hi marcie,

Vacuum packed hard cheeses - OK.

Soft cheeses - no.

NO MEAT.

Pate de foie gras and foie gras in tins - OK

Not in jars.

You should also take a look at the US Customs website...I didn't until after I bought all that good salumi.

Everyone is correct though about cheese=good...meat=bad
