Are the swiss still using their Franc or are they on the Euro?

No, the Swiss Franc ("CHF") is still the official currency in Switzerland. I suppose a certain number of places will take euros. Or dollars or pounds. Or yen. Or other foreign currency. In independent Switzerland, the euro is definitely a foreign currency. Still.

Best wishes,

Rex

That explains why when I request lodging info, I get rates in CHF!

yes we still use & honour the swiss franc and will do so for years to come. But, fiy, in most touristic places euro notes (no coins) are accepted and change is given in francs. I'm not sure, but the exchange course has to be bad - you will profit when you change at a bank or at the train station.
Even the big retailers (Coop, Migros) accept Euros (I'll try sometime when I get my first Euro notes)

So, when we arrive and use our ATM, we should get Swiss Francs? No need for Euros if we are just going to be in Switzerland?

I like using the currency of the country I am in. I will miss the French Franc, etc., so Swiss Francs are fine with me. Guess I won't have to get "used to" the Euro just yet.

Thanks.
