And I'm pretty sure that I've heard some of the US-French comparisons elsewhere before - probably in a Louis de Funès film. Which are, by the way, another fine example of French cultural supremacy!

For once, I agree with Adu. French culture did end maybe 50 years ago.

One other similarity is that both the US and the French laugh at the Brits.

One cultural difference is that, in France, one can cheat on their spouse and pretend they did nothing wrong and hurt no one.

One of the ironic things about golf and rap, was the joke about five years ago in America was the startling revelation that the best golfer was Black and the best rapper was white.
(That rapper was Eminem.)

Now that has changed again and all is right again with stereotypes.

Chalk and cheese when it comes to urban Americans (or Parisians) as against small-town/rural French (or Americans): a possibly more important factor.
