Cuckoo Wooden Whistle

Visited Salzburg and wanted to buy a Cuckoo whistle for my grandson. Could not find any. Just wondering if anyone would know where I could buy one like the one Samantha Brown used in her travel program on Salzburg? I live in Chicago.

Princess:
I bought my wooden cuckoo whistles in an open-air 'lifestyle' museum in Gutach, Black Forest (?Vogtsbauernhof,
and two ceramic cuckoo whistles in Colmar, Alsace, France.
While not authentic, a cuckoo whistle made in the US can be found at
www.musichouseshop.com/store/whistle-cuckoo.html for about $22 (and I thought about $7 was a lot for a primitive carved one in Germany)!!!

Original ones from the Schwarzwald/Black Forest:
http://schwarzwald-shop.com/index.ph...=9&lang=de (hope the link works, if not, try www.schwarzwald-shop.com)
Page is in German. Search for "Kuckuckspfeife".

Thank you for your suggestions. I did Google and came across the Frankenmuth Clock Co. here in US and ordered handcarved Cuckoo Whistles at $2.00 each. They are for my grandchildren so that they can drive their parents "Cuckoo"! Ha! The children are 4,5,6, and 7 and a couple of adults. It should be a very musical Christmas. Really, though, I just wish I could have wandered through a real German Christmas Market and just look at all the beautiful handcarved toys there would be. Oh, someday!

Merry Christmas to all.

Give the kids at least three each so the little darlings can bring musical joy to the proud parents for a long, long time.

I received my Cuckoo Whistles already, -- two days after I ordered them. They are really cute, handcarved with one little bird on top. You blow in it and then cover the tiny hole at the end of the whisle and blow again releasing the last "koo."

Oh, how Cuckoo we'll all be on Christmas morning!
