Ctrl Holiday/Trafalga Tours

Havent seen too much posted about these companies. Does anyone have any feedback whether negative or positive about them? I've narrowed my research down to these two companies because of their itineraries. Appreciate your thoughts.

In 1995 we went with Trafalgar to Spain and France. It was an excellent tour. The tourguide,Hillary, was extremely knowledgeable. The sightseeing was very thorough and yet we had enough time to wander on our own.

3 years ago, I went on a ski trip (500 people) to Cortina which used Central Holidays as the tour operator. They basically did an OK job, but be aware that CH uses Alitalia and Alitalia is about the only airline that still allows smoking! The smoke was horrible and on the return flight most of it came from the crew. Also, it seems Alitalia's hub is Rome, so make sure you get the details of your flight and make sure it is what you want. Since ours was a group trip and we had no control, they had us flying from LAX to Milan, then to Rome, change planes and on to Venice, which added many unnecessary hours to our trip. I would say the same of any tour, however. Just make sure you know what you're getting and that you will be happy with it. Otherwise, don't hesitate to do it yourself. We spent our second week all on our own with no reservations (off season) and had a blast and no problems. Buon Viaggio!

We went on Trafalgar tour of England and Scotland last July, and found it very good. Would definitely use them again. Not bad considering two generations (20 & 40),and both had fun.
