Crystal Palace

We are traveling to London in April and are staying in Crystal Palace. I was wondering if anyone could give me any information----safe neighborhood?? Places to eat, etc. I am told that we are seven minutes walk from the train station....will the Londonpass with travel cover that station?
Thanks!

Crystal Palace is fine - if a little dull. I can't recommend anywhere to east or drink as it's not somewhere I'd ever go.

But I do know that a travelcard will cover you for train travel (and buses).

The best thing about Crystal Palace is the dinosaurs in the park (I'm being serious - they're wonderful)

Thanks! We chose Crystal Palace because the apartment was close to a train station and MUCH less expensive than the city center.
Thanks again for the info...it is appreciated.

DO NOT get the travel option w/ the London Pass! Just get your travel card at the station when you are in London.

You will be in zone 4 and 90% of your sightseeing will be in zone 1. W/ the London Pass transport option you will pay for all 6 zones.

Whether the London Pass itself is useful to you is debatable - but the transport option is a rip off.

Have you done the maths on whether the London Pass is worthwhile, many of the decent attractions are FREE anyway so you can't save much on them and many of the paying ones have offers through www.2for1entry.co.uk which you can use with a London Travelcard
