I've never been to Vezelay, but was reading about it in a book about the Crusades. The carvings inside the Church look beautiful.

Burgundy is one of the areas that we are researching for this year's trip so that was one I knew immediately. So here is a clue from one of the other place we are considering.

Clue: Belonging to the Carondelet family until 1621, this village is renown for the five restored windmills that hearken back to its industrial past.
1 word - 6 letters. The fifth letter is an "E" from Vezelay.
