Crete - Porto Loutro Hotel Booking
Haven't been able to get a response to emails to Porto Loutro I Hotel in Loutro, Crete. Am looking to book a couple of nights in late September. Before I try a fax, wondered if anyone else had this experience or had suggestions. Communications problem when trying to make a reservation seems like an inauspicious start. Any other suggestions for accommodations in Loutro?

kat82 Astoria Capsis is in the middle of Heraklion and has nothing to do with the charm of Loutro..
Finally i managed to speak to the hotel, the lady with the foreign accent who answered my call said that the hotel is open and everything works, including email and fax.....
Since Loutro is a tiny place, and arrivals/departures only limited to when there is a boat, i guess the reception doesn't work 24/7... The lady confirmed that there isn't someone at the reception all the time.
Good luck with your booking
PS i am sure you know this... but here is the website of hotel : http://www.hotelportoloutro.com/Hote...utro/index.htm

We spent several days there, incredible experience, not fancy, basic rooms., but right on the water.
The tiny town is basically the hotel and a few shops, Owner Alison is British, her husband is Greek.
We booked through Maria at www.diktynna-travel.gr, an incoming tourist agency for Crete. The south side of the island is a totally different experience. You are making a good choice so be patient! It's very inexpensive so lack of staff to answer inqueries isn't a surprise.
Other guests were all Europeans, some staying for several weeks.

Thanks for the help everyone. I finally heard back today and they are full for my dates at the end of September. Will explore other options in Loutro. Any comments on Hotel Sifis, Daskalogiannis Hotel or Loutro Holiday Apartments?
