Covid vaccination needed for Paris CDG?

Hi,

I will be traveling in May from Canada to CDG Paris and then connecting to fly to Poland via Frankfurt. I will need to pick up my checked in luggage at CDG and check it in at CGD for the flight to Poland as I booked my flights separately.

Do I need to be fully vaccinated to pickup my luggage and check it in again at CDG? I will be adhering to Canadian and Polish covid rules, but France requires a covid shot no longer then 9months old which I don't have, mine last shot will be 11months ago. However, I don't know if my luggage situation will require me to technically enter France or not. Also anyone know the cost of rapid test in CDG?

Thank you.

Wouldn't it be easier just to get your booster shot? I don't know what the deal is in Canada but in the US you can get one all over the place now with hardly or no notice (pharamacies).
Secondly, you are making it very complicated by booking on two different airlines requirijng you to pick up your luggage, without that, you'd have no problem. Mostly.

I have no personal experience with such a situaiton, but all I know is the
French CDG website says you have to fulfill all requirements to enter France if you want to do that. If you can't, you have to stay airside. So I think you have problems.

Also, you can't get tested at CDG in such a situation. You seem to think you can, and you cannot if you aren't fully vaccinated because you can't get to that area. According to French info.

I believe you fall into the self-connecting rules?

Thanks for the response.

It says "You must full all entry conditions for french territory", so seems like either a booster shot or covid test is required. I wonder if an antigen test would be enough or would a PCR test be required?

Booking separate flights was about 40% cheaper and some people I'm traveling with simply prefer not to get a booster if possible for reasons too long to get into.

If you pick up your baggage - that is after immigration so can't stay airside, and will have to 'enter France'. AFAIK in order to enter France you have to meet all French rules. But I'm not 100% sure about that. If someone else doesn't post something definitive here, I'd maybe register and ask on FlyerTalk (the same company as Fodors, but different registration).

Oh - and welcome to Fodors

You will be entering the Schengen zone at CDG which will require your being either fully vaccinated, which includes an mRNA booster (unless your second shot of the initial vaccination series was less than 9 months before the entry date), or you will need to present a negative Covid test before boarding your flight to France.

Do you know if antigen test would be sufficient or does it need to be a PCR test?

When traveling from Paris to Poland do I need to present anything? Poland has lifted all restrictions.
