Covent Gardens

What's fun to do in Covent Gardens in London? Do you recommend any nice places to eat either in Covent Gardens or Leister Square? or Picadilly Circus

Hi Rebecca:

Covent Gardens is a wonderful place to wander - in and out of shops, watching the street performers, amongst the street artists. There are many restaurants in the area and if the weather is nice you can sit outside and watch the parade of people.

Don't miss the store "Lush" - handmade soaps, facial creams, bath things, etc. It is very unique and has not yet hit the states.

Also, if you're in Soho, try the restaurant "Soho Soho". We ate downstairs at the brasserie (the restaurant upstairs is more expensive) and had a delicious dinner - some of the most memorable food we had on our trip!

Have fun!

Covent Garden is great to wander around in, with loads of good shops. As far as somewhere to eat goes, try Food for Thought: a vegetarian restaurant/cafe in Neal Street. Turn left out of the tube, cross the road and keep walking straight up Neal Street, it is on the left hand side. Very small, gets very busy at lunch times, but the food is delicious and very cheap for London. Try the homemade bread and desserts as well - they are both gorgeous!

Mark.

If you want to eat some great, good-value Italian food in Covent Garden, try Buona Sera on Drury Lane. It's only just opened and is a branch of a restaurant in Clapham, a residential area in the south west of the city. It is fabulous! The pizzas are huge, tasty and very traditional. The decor is breezy and the service good but not too fussy. Pizzas are about £5-6 and starters about £2.50-3.50
