County in Ireland
Which county is the best to visit in Ireland? I plan on spending 8 days in June in Ireland. My friend and I plan on renting a car, but are nervous wrecks about driving, and want to limit our visit to a smaller, non-congested area. We are thinking of flying into Shannon from London, and driving up to Knock....what do you think of this plan? Suggestions for must sees and great hotels, bed and breakfasts?

If Knock is on your list then Mayo, Sligo, and Galway west of the N17 part of which is called the Connemara is a great area to visit and relatively uncongested in comparison to the likes of Kerry. There is no need to be nervous, if you can drive at home you can drive here,
You could fly into Knock (Ireland West) from London.

Achill Island is Ireland's largest island part of North Mayo and "land bridged" Also worth considering Clare Island and Inisboffin/Iinisturk which need ferries.
