We just got back from a trip to Italy (Lake Como and SML) and the French Riviera and reading all these posts makes me want to pack a bag and head out again!
Next trip is in October to Santa Fe, NM and then in December to Puerto Rico. My husband and our son will be going to Prague in September - son is doing some recording there so it is both a business and pleasure trip. I am not going...boohoo!

HI! what a great forum! I am leaving in 9 days! I am flying into paris and then off to naples.. we are going to pompeii, matera, positano, amalfi, atrani and back to paris for 5 nights! This is my 2nd trip to Europe! I am most excited to see pompeii, and the friends I made from paris and atrani the last trip I took, and my grandparents hometown in italy! I am excited and nervous, but pretty prepared ( i almost feel like I should be more stressed out-but I can't help it, I know what to expect and it just excites me!
by the way, venice, florence and rome.. how could you go wrong really!? if you take a wine tour enjoy! I never had a chance to do that last time so we kind of did our own by taking a bus to greve in chianti and lingering around there! Have a blast!

We just got back from our trip and had such a wonderful time. We did a spur of the moment cruise, flying to Barcelona, then 7 days western Med. After the cruise, we flew back to Rome to visit our friends who live there. We are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ready to do another cruise. I think we are hooked!
Our next trip will probably be to NYC to see our daughter. Other than that, I am homebound for a while.

My sis and I are embarking on a Mini-European tour this fall...here’s how it goes:
10/31 – 4 of us (me, DH, 3 YO DD & my sis), are flying from SFO to Heathrow and head-off to Wickham (about 60 miles west of London). My in-laws reside here so we’ll be staying over with them for few days to drop off my 3 yr old girl since hubby’s also going on a separate trip to India for business. This is my 3rd trip to England. My sister’s never been to Europe so everything is a first for her. We’ll try to squeeze a day in Bath if we can. But England’s countryside is so beautiful that you don’t really have to drive further away.
11/3 – my sis and I will head off to Paris via Eurostar @ Waterloo. In Paris, we’ll be staying at Hotel Louvre Marsollier.
This is my 2nd time in Paris. Planning to visit Versailles & some flea markets this time.
11/7 – we take the sleeper train to Florence (my first time to Italy)
11/8 – arrive Florence, be staying at Hotel Centrale within easy reach of the S. Maria Novella Railway Station. On one of the days of our stay in Florence, we plan to take a day trip to either Pisa or Siena (is it possible to see both in one day?)
11/11 – train to Rome, be staying at Hotel Lancelot by the Colosseum area. Have read some mixed reviews about Rome so I’m just hoping that my sis and I will feel safe especially at nights when it gets dark pretty early.
11/15 – fly to London, and will be staying at Kensington Gardens Hotel for 3 days. I have only took day trips to London in the past so this will be my first time to actually stay there for few days. Perhaps this time we’ll have a chance to squeeze in some time for afternoon tea.
11/18 – fly back to SFO
Then, back to reality!

DH & I am leaving on Christmas Day 2007 for Venice. We'll be 4 nights in Venice, 5 nights in Florence & 7 nights in Rome.
We have our airline tickets, hotel reservations for Venice & Florence; and a deposit on an apartment in Rome.
This is the first trip to Italy for both of us.
We are in the process of getting PREPARED for the trip: reading books (not just guide books, but books about art & architecture, etc), studying our maps, and watching movies related to Italy.
Ciao!

7 months until Rome and a daytrip to Florence. I didn't check the dates when I booked the good airfare and I'm going the week before Easter. Oh well, live and learn. I've already done the Vatican.

I'm leaving in two days to visit my in-laws in Maine for two weeks, with a four day escape to Nova Scotia. Husband loves road trips, and is between semesters at school, so he drove up two weeks ago. I'm flying up, cuz I have less time available off work ![Imported](https://www.fodors.com/community/images/smilies/imported/smiley.gif)
We've been planning for next summer's vacation since last summer - 9 of us to Scotland for three weeks in June

Heading to visit my sister in 38 days in Norfolk/VA Beach area...
But the major trip happens in 120 days! Going to Panama for the first time and I am really excited!
Unfortunately my next trip to Europe will not be until next spring (at least, I am hoping that is when I am going). Going to be in France for a couple of months studying!
