After studying the alternatives, we took the bus tour. Not only was this a very efficient way to get around and see many more gorgeous towns than we could have done on our own in one day, the commentary all along the way and the walking/guided tours were excellent. And, there was plenty of free time to explore/shop.

Mimar, it is comforting to read your discription of London as not so enclosed feeling. I grew up in Chicago and downtown is all vertical iron and concrete jungle. I love Chicago but if it weren't for family or business I would have a hard time justifying a 6 night visit there. thereyet
