Cote D'Azur - dining
Hello,
I am looking for recommendations for good, not a tourist traps restaurants to eat. We will be based in Nice and drive to explore Riviera. We will probably end up our days in Nice so I am looking for mostly dinners in Nice, otw daily lunches on the coast and hills. Few Michelin's star restaurants would be great. Is Colombo D'Or in St. paul de Vence is really good or a tourist trap? thanks

Colombre Dór is NOT a tourist trap. Too expensive to be one. Excellant service. We stayed there several days in September. In Marseille (tho not Cote'Dór) Chez Fonfon for their famed Bouillibaisse, Auberge Tourettes in Tourettes sur Loup.

"....is not a tourist trap. Too expensive to be one."
What an odd comment. Most of the restaurants I've been to that I'd judge as tourist traps WERE very expensive. In fact so expensive that the locals know better than to eat there.
I'm not talking about Colombo D'Or, as I've not been there, but I sure found it to be true of some other VERY expensive restaurants.

I agree with Patrick's comment but I don't consider La Colombe D'Or a tourist trap. The place is beautiful with fabulous art. The food is VERY good. Is it expensive? Yes.
Other suggestions that I think have Michelin stars:
Le Cagnard in Haut Cagnes (above Cagnes sur Mer)
Chateau de la Chevre D'Or in Eze
Moulins de Mougins (in Mougins)
I had a nice dinner at a restaurant at the old port in Nice. I think it was called Le Nautique.

Le Colombe d'Or is very good; a special place. Same with Chevre d'Or. In Haut Cagnes, try Josyjo; more casual than Cagnard, basically an upmarket steakhouse; very good, friendly service. In Mougin I also like La Terrasse, with great views over Cannes. In Antibes; les Vieux Murs, on the old city walls. In between Antibes and Juan les Pins there is a new beach club with two restaurants, called Les Pecheurs (there is a specialty fish restaurant, and a more casual restaurant called Le Cap, as well as a bar). It's run by the same group as the excellent Hotel Juana in Juan les Pins; this hotel has a (michelin starred) restaurant, also called La Terrasse. In Nice we had a great meal at L'Avenue, but this is a clubby, fusion type place; maybe not your cup of tea, but the food was excellent. In Rue Alphonse Karr is a nice bistro called Les Viviers. And if are in Cap Ferrat, I can recommend the restaurant of the Royal Riviera Hotel.
