Correct hours for L'Orangerie

Could anyone who has been there recently let me know the correct hours for L'Orangerie?

I went to their website. The English version says that they're open from 12:30 to 7 for individuals & from 9 to 12:30 but only for groups. But the French website says that they're open from 9 to 6. Both sites agree that it's closed on Tuesdays.

Thanks

Go by the schedule on Musee de l'Orangerie website.

It is open at 9, per the "French website", but only for groups.

Whenever you see differing closing times, one is usually the latest time you can enter and the other the time the place actually closes.

The museum opens at 12:30 for individuals. The French version of the web site is structured differently than the English version. If you go to group reservations under practical information you'll see that 9:00 to 12:30 is for groups.

If you're an individual and arrive before 12:30 you wait in line until 12:30.

We went last April 2007 around 4pm and there was no waiting.

I was there last week, and it definitely does not open for individuals until the afternoon.

We had spent the morning and early afternoon finishing off the Louvre. Then we walked thru the gardens to the L'Orangerie. It was probably 4:30 by this time. We walked right in, no lines at all.

Now the lines at the Louvre, well, that's another story...

Same experience. Was there a few months ago (January?) and it was not open in the morning. I had to return around 2 pm in the afternoon. No lines then either.

Topping because I saw that the Musee l'Orangerie has new hours:

9am-6pm for both individual visitors AND groups (still closed Tuesdays)

I would follow what's on the museum web site rather than what is on the museum pass site. The Orangerie site says individuals 12:30 - 7:00.

There was a posting on the Slow Travel website from someone that was recently there. It says that the new closing time is 6pm and people were being turned away at 530pm as the museum did not consider a half an hour enough time to visit.

I think the museum just hasn't bothered updating the English language pdf (I've seen the same thing on the Louvre site in the past, where the French language pages are updated, and the English language takes several days to catch up)

The homepage says "Nouveaux horaires d'ouverture du musée". Here's the info in French:

It's too bad, I thought it was a nice idea to have tour groups seperated from individuals, especially since it's a fairly small museum.

Looks like this is a new thing from May 6, 2008.

Thanks Apres_Londee, that's the French site I had originally seen saying that it's open from 9 to 6. But if you switch to their English site, it gives later hours. So I'm guessing that they haven't updated their English version.

I'll find out next month when I visit.

P.S. I liked your trip report.
