Anyone stayed at this hotel recently? I just got it for 75.00 per night on priceline. I wanted Westminster or Mayfair district but got this instead. Is this in a convenient location?

nice hotel, super price. grab it. I believe it is at least a 4 star. the rooms were fairly spacious. (especially for London).

a short walk to High Street Kensington (and the tube) and maybe 15 minute walk to Kensington Palace, and perhaps half an hour walk to the edges of the Notting Hill neighborhood.

very pleasant. what are you hoping to be convenient to - you have a few 'tourist sites' but it's a hike to Westminster, West End, etc.

There is another thread on this topic from a few months ago. Just do a search of the hotel name and you will find enough information. I stayed at the Tara for $65 in June using priceline and it was a great deal.

Based on this string and others I have read, several of you have stayed here. I just got it for $67 on Priceline. Several of you have said there are good restaurants nearby. Can any of you give specific names/locations? Thanks!

Maggie Jones is a great restaurant just off Ken. High St. (I can't remember the exact address, your concierge will know.

Also, you will be near Derry St. The roof garden, if it is open when you are there, which is on the roof of the Derry & Thoms building is great. It is closed alot of pvt. functions but maybe you'll be lucky. Admission is free and there are 3 different gardens up there.

We stayed at the Tara for a couple of weeks a few years ago and thought it was great. It is a wonderful location. If you do a search on this board you should find quite a lot on this hotel.

Hi Buglady - I stayed there five years ago. Continental breakfast was 9 pounds then! Eat elsewhere. There is a Pret a Manger around the corner at the mall at the tube station. The room was lovely and enormous; double bed; tea-making. Good sized bathroom with tub/shower. It's a business traveler hotel for the most part, upscale; helpful staff. I don't care for the Kensington area except that it's right by the park. It's so busy, commercial, and nothing about "merrie olde england" in it. There are some inexpensive and good restaurants in the area - a fairly new Italian restaurant on High Street just across from the corner edge of the park. Can't remember the name. Have fun in London.
