Cookery Courses
Has anyone done an interesting cookery course in France, Spain or Italy? My friend and I will both be forty this year and we would love some sun and cookery possibly in June. We don't want to slum it and we are both reasonably good cooks already. Any suggestions please?

About a month ago someone named Wendy posted a question about a cooking course in Morrocco. From her description it sounded like one that an acquaintance of mine had been planning to take. She had taken a Provence cooking course with the same outfit and liked it very much. (She had taken others with other companies that were not so good.) They do mainly France -- cooking classes/tours in various parts of France. Very "upscele" I think but not Too too outrageously expensive. If you search "cooking" "morrocco" or something like that you should find the thread along with the mention of the web address.

Mary, I am interested in doing this myself one day here are a few good ones to try
1. Lorenza Medici's school at Badia Coltibuono, near Radda in Chianti. This one sounds amazing, you cook during the day and in the evenings you visit her friends castles and have dinners there! Pretty pricey but I think completely worth it.
2.Villa Delia, not far from Volterra. Check them out at www.umberto.com Run by a local Vancouver chef from Italy and his sister. I am going to check this one out myself this summer. Hope this helps. Have fun

I missed the Morocco trip, but leaving tonight for a culinary trip in Grasse, with chef Jacques Chibois...
www.cookfrance.com
has wonderful itineraries! I had a hard time choosing. I think I am going back for the Truffle and foie gras fall Dordogne adventure.
On their site, this trip is titled Cote d'Azur. We are shopping in the open air markets with Jacques, staying at his Bastide and cooking in his restaurant.
I'll let you know how it goes...!

Check out this website for some cooking schools and personal small-group cooking lessons in Paris that look very good to me.
