Convent stays in Venice
Is anyone able to put me onto a convent or monastory in either Paris or Venice where my husband and I could stay for a week in June 2006? I have been unsuccessful in finding one yet have heard stories of successful stays in such accommodation. Can any one help?

The contact # above seems to be missing a # but I'm not sure, that's how it's listed in the book. These 3 appear to have great locations. They all have doubles with bath. I don't have current rates, but they are open all year, whereas some convents are only open during the Summer. If you get no response from a fax, it maybe because they are full. Good luck!

I'm glad you're having luck with the convent replies. In Italy convents are everywhere, but in Paris I don't know of such accommodations. Are you on a tight budget? Because a Paris apartment maybe a good deal for you if you are there an entire week. You can save money by having a kitchen and still be in a good location. We are renting an apt in May for 3 people for 100 euro/night.

The only monastic guesthouse I know of in Paris:

Note the curfew of 9 PM, and it seems they do want people who have an actual religious interest.
