Consolidator plane tickets to Europe...who is good?
We want to fly to Vienna or Budapest next month but have found airfare from regularly scheduled airlines is almost $1000 per person. I have seen many ads for consolidator ticket shops in the LA Times and other big city papers, but don't know what companies who do this are reliable and low cost. I would appreciate hearing anyone's comments on what consolidators you have used that have been good ( or ones to avoid). Also please say if they have a web site or 800#. Thanks.

I called many consolidators for my trip to Italy this May and found that Air France had the best prices over the consolidators! Prices this year were very high. The one consolidator I used twice (in 1994 and 1996) was TFI Tours 800-745-800, but as I said AF was best. Good luck!

I and others I know have gotten good priced tickets from Global Travel Discount. They are located in Las Vegas, but everything is done by phone and mail.
They have been consistently helpful. Sorry, I misplaced the phone number, but it's a 714 area code.

I've also used Global Discount Travelers in Las Vegas. Their phone no. is 800 497-6678.
Ask them about flying TWA; they give a 20%25 discount on all TWA flights--legit. (They got the tickets at a discount from Carl Icahn as he was unloading TWA a few years ago and can resell them at 20%25 off and still make a profit. The deal is quite legal--I've checked them out thoroughly and think I wound up with a very good fair to Paris this August. Good luck!
