Concerts at Sainte-Chapelle in Paris?
My wife and I are going back to Paris this September and staying near Notre Dame. I am very interested in concerts in historical settings. I have found tickets for concerts in Sainte-Chapelle, but there is little indication of the type of music. Doesn't anyone have recent experience with concerts at Sainte-Chapelle? The threads on this are quite old.

I've always enjoyed concerts at Sainte-Chapelle; they are only about an hour, especially the 7pm concerts.
Try the website below; click on the month you want and programs for various dates will come up. There seem to be already quite a few listings for September.

Oh, woops! The 2011 listings only go through July. I failed to notice that for months beyond that they say '2010'. Well, as we get closer to September, this will be more useful, and at least it does give you an idea of the type of music you would hear.

St-Sulpice has an organ recital in September.

And here's the site for Sorbonne concerts but they only have May and June schedules right now.

Julian-le-Pauvre church also has concerts - stop by for a listing and to buy tickets.
Notre Dame has a concert on September 28.

The Cluny Museum offers concerts on Sundays at 4:00 and Mondays at 12:30.

We went to a concert at Ste Chapelle in March.
Most of the concerts are baroque, all of them chamber music. Ours was the Mozart Clarinet Quintet and a similar piece by Weber.
Don't waste money on premium seats. It is a small concert venue, and you will be able to hear and see from everywhere.
The acoustics aren't very good. The clarinetist had to contend with multiple echoes. I think it would be better for vocal music.
That being said, the experience was terrific. You get to be in the upstairs chapel with perhaps 60 other people for an hour and a half. While they take down the chairs and stage after the concert, you can take photos and look around on your own. No one rushes you out.
One of our friends on the same trip went to a concert at St Julien-le-pauvre and found it excellent.

We were at Saint Chapelle just 2 weeks ago at a lovely Mozart concert. I agree wholeheartedly with Ackislander's reply. We enjoyed the concert, it was only about an hour and 15 minutes, the setting was of course beautiful and VERY special. I think you should really only go though if you find something in the program that you like, for instance if we had not gotten tickets for Mozart, there were others during the days we were there that we would not have taken, just because we were not that interested in the music itself.
As for the premium seats, we only chose those because this way our hotel could get them for us and we did not have to waste time going there and they were only 5 Euros more than the regular seats. They encompassed the first three rows and there was no other reason than that to really take them.
Being there just when darkness starts to set in, and then staying on a bit longer while seats are put away, was indeed magical. Lovely experience!!

One of the most memorable experiences of many in Paris and all over Europe over dozens of trips was a concert at Sainte-Chapelle about 3 years ago. We had been many times and enjoyed it tremendously. Most recently we happened to be there as the sun was setting. The changes in the colors of the windows along with the music (Vivaldi) were exquisite and never to be forgotten. Try for tickets to a concert that will allow you to see the transition from light to dark.
