BigRuss: Don't say travel insurance is not worth it. It is very worth it. I know many people who have kept their trip from being a bust because of it. I just collected $600 for a two day delay with the volcano. CSA insurance found a friend's luggage that the airline wouldn't/couldn't find.

PS: I wouldn't buy insurance from the airline or tour company either. Go to www.insuremytrip.com We use CSA but another may be better for you.

The OP has said travel insurance will be bought for this trip, and the rest of you are not going to change each other's minds.

luvmyguys,

You really need to post more about your one-week trip to get useful advice. For instance, when are you going, how many people are going and what are you trying to accomplish -- a vacation getaway, or an introduction to history or art -- or what? Are you travelers who like to sightsee according to famous sights or do you like to have fun doing what you like to do no matter what the guidebooks say?

There is no one Italian city that is "better" on a weekend or any day for everybody, unless you enjoy the thrill of following in the footsteps of millions of tourists, and if so, one week is not much time to do that.
