Como to Malpensa do-able?

We have a 10:40 a.m. weekday flight out of Milan (end of May). Would it be possible to spend the night before in Como, or would it be difficult to get to the airport in the morning? If Como is a reasonable option, should I be arranging in advance for a morning taxi, or can I stick to the train? Many thanks for your feedback!

Hi Amelias - No problem.

There is an Airport Shuttle (- operator SPT) bus from Como to Malpensa, dep. 07.00 (- arr, Malpensa 08.00).

http://www.sptcomo.it/malpensa.php

Hope this helps ...

Just want to make sure you're talking about the town of Como as opposed to the Lake. Steve's answer applies to the town.

People throw around the word Como sometimes without realizing there's a town by this name.

Thanks for catching that - yes, I meant Lake Como! My sister wants to see Bellagio on our last day, and I'm trying to figure out where to sleep that will put us within a reasonable distance of Malpensa the next morning. Suggestions? Mille grazie!

This past October, we stayed in Lenno (a small village on the lake, a bit further from Malpensa than is the town of Como) the night before a 7:30am flight -- meaning we had to be at Malpensa by 5:30am. The manager of our hotel arranged for us to be driven to the airport, for a bit less expense than a limousine service. Sure, we had to get up at 4:30am, but for us, it was worth getting to spend another evening on that beautissiful lake.
DO IT!

Como would probably be best if you want to use public transport.

If you want to spend your last night in Bellagio you would need to get a VERY early bus to Como for the 07.00 Malpensa Shuttle - or arrange a taxi transfer.
