Como to Bellagio

I'm getting off at the como train station. Does anyone know if it is walking distance to the boat launch to get to Bellagio. Also does anyone know the approximate travel time on the boat to get to Bellagio? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I believe you can take a bus direct from S Giovanni Como's mainline station to Bellagio. about a mile or so to boat dock from station.

If coming from Milan you can take Nord de Milano railway to a station right opposite the boat dock and by the bus station for boats or buses to Bellagio.

You can easily walk from the train station to the landing assuming you are traveling light. Plan on about 45 min-1 hr. on the ferry depending on the schedule/stops.

It's definitely walking distance. Our hotel was across from the ferry landing. With a map, cooler weather and a good pace, I bet you could make it in 20 minutes - maybe less.

For us it was a hot day, no map and we were cranky and really didn't mind the walk. Go down hill! towards the water...

If you have time or are hungry, stop at La Riva for pizza.

If I remember right the boats from Como to Bellagio are fairly few. You'll want to look at a schedule before you plan to do that.

For the record, depending on where you're coming from, taking the train to Varenna and then taking the very frequent boat the short distance to Bellagio could work out better, unless the Como stop is a necessity for some reason.

There are TWO train stations in COMO.

1) Stazione Nord Como Lago: if you are arriving by Ferrovie Nord trains. This is the one referred as "close to the dock."

2) Stazione F. S. Como San Giovanni if you are arriving by Trenitalia trains.
This is the one referred as going down the hill to the water.

Como Lago station is the closer to the dock of the two, but still about a quarter miles to the boat dock ticket office. While some (irrelevant) boat docks are opposite the station, the ticket office and the docks serving boats to Bellagio are not.

There are two boat services: 1) hydrofoil (fast service) 40-50min and 2) slow boat (motorships) ~2hrs.

Caveat: The last boat leaves COMO ~7pm. If you are not arriving early enough, take a bus or a car ferry (ferry) from Varenna, which runs till much later in the evening.

Here is the boat schedule:

Here is the bus schedule, runs ~8pm

then "Visualizza tutti gli orari"
then "TUTTE LE LINEE CHE PASSANO DALLA FERMATA DI ..."
then type "como"
then C30 "Andata"
