COLLETTE- ITALIAN VISTA'S
HAS ANYONE GONE ON THE COLLETTE ITALIAN VISTA TOUR. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT YOU THOUGHT ABOUT THE HOTELS AND THE ITINERARY. <BR>I AM PLANNING TO GO IN THE SPRING, I WAS GOING TO GO IN OCTOBER, BUT DUE TO THE DISASTER IN OUR COUNTRY I WANTED TO STAY IN THE US. I AM ALSO LOOKING INTO GLOBUS TOURS. <BR>ANY INFORMATION WILL BE APPRECIATED. THANKS!!

Patricia - while it sometimes doesn't work well, there is a search function here. You may want to search on Globus to get some feedback about that tour company. I don't know that I've ever Collette Vista Tours mentioned before, but I could be wrong. Most of the people who frequent this forum are independent travelers, however there are some who use tours, and have compared the companies, so you may get some response from your query. But for instant gratification, I'd try the search function!

Collette Vacations has definitely been mentioned on the board before, I remember answering a thread but here goes again. I did Collette a while back with my wife and ould not have been more pleased. Collette is a step above Globus/Insight unless you are doing a Collette Value Tour which is more like the highest level of Globus/Insight or Trafalagar. If looking to compare Collette and Perillo are comparable and these were the two we looked at they were similar in prie and level of service and hotel. We liked the Collette itinereary better. Not sure of the name of the tour we did but it had all stays of 2 nights or more in eah city so you weren't moving around as much. I believe we did 2 nights in Stressa, 2 nights, Venice, 2 nights Florence, 3 nights Rome and 2 nights on Amalfi Coast. The hotels were well above average and in the city centers, the one in Stressa was espeially magnificent. What I like about Collette is that ther were no "optionals"as with some tours, the price was more but everything was included. Because we were staying in city centers and spending a couple of nights at each location we also were not required to up and about as early in the morning. I read on this board that someone on a Globus/Insight tour was ont he bus every morning by 6 a.m. which is not relaxing but insane. I highly recoomend Colette

Excuse me, Buddy, I think you are confusing Globus with some other company. They are not Globus/Insight, but Globus/Cosmos, Cosmos being the budget version. I don't believe they are connected with Insight Tours, but a few years back they bought Brendan Tours, which now uses the identical itineraries and hotels as Globus. In doing my own research and comparisons, I've noticed that Collette is in a similar price range with Globus, but often uses the same hotels as Cosmos and Trafalgar.
