Cochem, Germany
Hi, I'm beginning to plan what 'to do' in each of the places my husband and I will visiting in our upcoming trip to Germany/Switzerland this summer.
1st stop: Cochem (Alte Thorenke (pleaes pardon my spelling) for 2 nights)
On my list to do I have:
~Burg Eltz
~Beilstein
~Walk Cochem (shop and enjoy the town)
~I've read where one can rent bikes and go on a bike trail down the mosel. Has anyone done this or know of a bike trail?
Opinions please and/or suggestions?
Thanks!

I'll be in Cochem in May. While there we'll take a one hour cruise on the Mosel from Cochem to Bleinstein and back - See www.kolb-mosel.de for info. You can rent bikes in Cochem and bike to Bleinstein and take the boat back. Also you are close enough to the Rhine for a cruise. See www.k-d.com. There is also a free winery tour in Zell which you can call ahead to reserve at 06542/41398.

A few years ago while staying in Bernkastel-Kues(probably spelled wrong, sorry) we rented bikes at a shop in town and road along the Mosel on a bike path to Traben-Trabek (?), had a picnic along the way then took the boat back. It was a wonderful day and we thoroughly enjoyed "living like the locals". Have a wonderful trip.
