Cinque Terre Trails Really all closed?
I just checked this national park website Parco Nazionale delle Cinque Terre - Visit the Park - Paths and Outdoor, which shows 2018 at bottom as most recent date, for info on the Cinque Terre trails. It shows that all 5 of the coastal trails are closed. OMG! Is that really true? I know they had the flood/mudslides in 2011 and many were closed. I was there in 2015 and remember only the trails from Riomaggiore to Manarola & Manarol to Corniglia were closed but the others were open. Please advise if that is really true and if so, is it just temporary or planned for long term. I will be visiting in May. Would appreciate any input. Thanks

We were there this past September and were able to walk the trail between Monterosso and Vernazza. We could have gone on to Corniglia but didn’t as it was getting very crowded. Don’t know if these trails are still open, but I haven’t read anything saying they’re closed either. Maybe you can email your hotel for more information?

We visited Cinque Terre in October 2016 and of the blue trails - we hiked the Monterosso-Vernazza and Vernazza-Corniglia trails, both of which were open. The rest (e.g. via dell'Amore which links Manarola and Riomaggiore) have been closed for a while and will likely remain so in the medium term. Hopefully a local expert or someone with more recent experience can confirm if the two trails I mentioned are only temporarily closed - which I suspect is the case.
