Cinque Terre in late September

We are spending a week in an apartment in Monerosso al Mare, September 18-25. Will the water be warm enough for swimming?

We were there in early October. We didn't swim, but we did see more than a few people using the beach and swimming. They may have been some hearty locals, though. The weather, overall was very beautiful all the time we were there.

Have fun that time of year, but do not count on swimming.

I, along with many others, swam in the waters off Camogli and Santa Margherita Ligure (a bit north of the CT area) during the last week of September last year. Locals say that the water is at its warmest in September.

PS: It is tourists, not locals, who swim "off season" in Italy, as Italians tend to think it is unhealthy to swim much outside of August, although July is usually OK with them. I live on the Mediterranean, and water temps are usually lovely for your time frame in September. You may feel a chill breeze once you are out of the water, so bring a cover up. And it can rain on the same days you swim. But that's true in August.

Thanks to all. We'll bring our suits even if we don't use them on Guvano.
