cinque terre
I am going to Cinque Terre in October on a tour of the Italian and French Rivieras. Has anyone gone there in October and can you tell me if the weather is cool or rainy. Any other info would be appreciated. Thanks to all.

There is a big difference between the first half of October and the last, but any time after the beginning of Autumn (Sept 21), you can days of rain.
If it isn't raining, the weather is pleasant, warm in the sun, cool in the shade, too cool to swim and at night you will need a jacket.
If at all possible, don't lock yourself into hotel reservations. If the weather forecast is for rain, book yourself into Genova, if that interests you, or head instead to Pisa and Lucca. If the weather clears up, you can day trip to le Cinque Terre but you won't be stuck there.

We travelled there in late September and had gorgeous weather. The water was choppy for boat travel between the islands and they weren't running for much longer. Check the schedule, it was a nice experience approaching the islands from the water, as well as foot and train.
