Cinque Terra to Nice

Can someone help me with the best way to from Cinque Terra to Nice France. We will probably be in Vernazza or Santa Marguerita Ligure. I don't think we will have a car because I imagine there would be a drop off fee to pick up in Italy and then drop in France. I looked at the train schedule but wasn't sure what the station in Nice was called. So, what is the best option and is there a boat or ferry. Thanks,

I was there in 1989 and took the train from Nice to Cinque Terre. As I remember, it was a straight shot, didn't even have to change trains between countries. You will love love love Cinque Terre! Make sure you take the walk between the towns, it's really lovely. Once you are there the trains are very easy to figure out.

If there's not a direct train, you'll go to Genoa and take the train to Nice from there. Genoa is about a 30 min drive from Santa Margherita. Train time between Genoa and Nice is a about 2.5 hours.

See the timetables and fares at www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html.

Enter either Vernazza or S. Margherita Ligure-Portofino as your departure point. Enter Nice Ville as your arrival point.
