I see that you have stayed in many places in Provence. What are your recommendations? How was Mas d'Aigret? We are taking our parents to Provence to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary so I am interested in something nice, comfortable (with a/c),and charming. I can spend around 200 Euros/room/night. Any ideas?
thanks

Hi kim, The Mas was very comfortable but not needing AC, I don't remember that. We had the least expensive room at one of our favorites, Crillon La Brave for under 200 euros. Ask for a room in your price range, that's what I do.Most places will have that price in Provence. Make sure you ask if the room is on another level if their are walking problems, wherever you chose, You will have a wonderful time.
When are you going? I'll be there the end of August.

My goodness! I never expected such a quick response! Thank you.
No, walking is not much of a problem for the folks, as they are in pretty good shape.
I will try the Crillon since you speak highly of it. Did you think it was nicer than the Mas d'Aigret? I really want this trip to be special for them. We can spend a little more if it is necessary.
We are going in July. Right now I'm planning to spend 5 nights in western Provence and 2 nights north of the Cote d'Azur (i.e. Grasse or Vence). Then we go to Tuscany for a week. Wish we were spending the whole time in one place, but we're trying to satisfy two different desires!
Thanks so much for your response. I've enjoyed reading your posts.

the website is www.crillonlebrave.com. I must tell you , that it is so beautiful and the views so lovely, the staff very kind. Before they opened officially, they had an ad in the New Yorker, and I telephoned one of the owners in Canada, because I was worried I don't drive;he was honest that I needed to have a car to get around in its rather remore location, tho for a price they would send a taxi to pick me up at the tgv in Avignon. So, it was a few years later that I was finally there with my husband who finally wanted to visit there. After several times sivce, I still love the place and wouldn't mind spending weeks there and bike around, but for us it's too expensive for more than a few days. They now have a less expensive bistro there, for those who cannot afford the dining areas every night.I can't think of another place, and I love many, that have the same views. The pool is on one terrace, a higher one, the bistro, the dining room/terrace on another higher.
