ciampino airport to termini?

We will be flying into Ciampino and have to get to the main rail station in Rome to get to Tuscany. Whats the best way to do this? Is there a shuttle bus or would a taxi be best, does anyone know how much its likely to cost? Is there just one rail station in Rome? We aren't going till next May but I like to be organised about all the details. Also what can we expect weather wise? We are thinking of the last 2 weeks in May and we are doing a 2 week cycling trip around Lake Trasimeno, Montepulciano & Cortona area so I hope it wont be too hot, would we be better going late April or early May?
Any help or advice is much appreciated

Hi Sharone - Bus, train or taxi are all options.

It's often quickest to catch the Terravision Shuttle bus direct to Roma Termini.

http://www.terravision.it/rome_ciampino.html

Alternatively you can reach Roma Termini by train. Ciampino station is a 5-10 mins ride (- bus or taxi) from the airport. But be aware that trains from Ciampino aren't that frequent (- approx hourly - see www.trenitalia.com).

Otherwise a taxi direct to Roma Termini should be in the region of € 40.

Hope this helps ...

Thanks Steve, just checked out the terravision site and reckon we will go with that as it seems quite straightforward and very cheap

Look at www.weatherbase.com for climate information. Then, close to your departure, check the forecast.

There is more than one train station in Rome. The most trains leave from Stazione Termini.
