Châteauneuf-du-Pape - Has anyone been here?
Hello Fodorites!
Has anyone visited Châteauneuf-du-Pape?
Is this in Avignon? Or it is outside of Avignon? I cannot tell from the map description on google maps.
If you have been there, do you know if they allow wine-tasting and how much they charge?
Where did you stay (lodging) when you visited Châteauneuf-du-Pape?
Do you think it would be possible to stay overnight in Nimes and do the daytrip over to Châteauneuf-du-Pape for wine tasting? I chose Nimes because I have friends there and would like to visit them for a few days while I explore the southern wine region.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of the places that I really would like to go to.

Hi
Just to say :
*Nimes, Arles, Avignon, Pont du Gard, Uzes, Chateauneuf du Pape, Orange are all very close together if you have a car.
*I often do a day trip Montpellier - Uzes - Pont du Gard - Nimes - Montpellier. In fact I did it last week with visitors !
*Winetasting is normally free in this region - some domains need a reservation. It is normal to taste before buying in Cave Cooperatives
*There is much winetasting close to Nimes. I was at http://www.domaine-de-calet.com , http://www.chateauroumanieres.com & http://www.saint-christol.com/moynie...re-english.htm with visitors last week - all were free
* More info : http://www.the-languedoc-page.com/to...inetasting.htm
