Looked but didn't see a post for this, so thought I'd ask. Have any of you found a place to buy Christmas ornaments in Rome. Like many, we have a family tradition of getting a Christmas ornament for each place we visit and will be in Rome Sep 30 - Oct 4.

Hi again geeper. It might be a good idea to post all of your Christmas ornament questions together because many people on this board like me have been to all three cities. Again it may be easier to find ornaments in September than in April and March when I visited Rome. Even at that time of the year, I say many Christmas ornaments from Murano in Rome. You will see many Murano glass shops in the tourist areas of Rome. They usually have Christmas ornaments.

I buy ornaments when traveling too. If I can't find an actual "ornament", I'll keep my eye out for something that can use used as an ornament. For instance, a small - very small plaque with a traditional saying from that country or a trinket that was to be hung in the kitchen (in Budapest) or even a surf board that was supposed to be in a little stand from Hawaii. This was actually my prefered method to the real ornaments that I found in Paris which were cheap, corny, plastic and expensive.

Hi, geeper. We were in Rome this past Feb/March, and we bought Christmas ornaments at a little stamp store right outside of the Vatican, and we also found Murano glass ornaments at several shops near the Spanish Steps (can't remember the names). But we found lots of ornaments, so I'm sure you won't have a problem finding some.

We also have a tradition of buying ornaments on our travels, and it's fun to put up the Christmas tree every year and remember again all the places we've been.
