Never heqard the word "Zimbelsterne" to describe the pyramids. I am curious - where did you get that from? I only ever heard of Zimbelsterne in connection with organs (the musical instruments, that is).
The wooden thingies with propeller and candles are known as pyramids. Mine is ready and waiting for the first Advent Sunday...

The Munich Glockenspiel chimes at 11AM, 12 Noon and 5 PM.
Since winter is here perhaps one of these times will be reduced.

Anyway, when the Golden Rooster comes out to crow 3 times that is the end of the show.

What is the weather like down in Munich.?

Those were my favorite window displays last year at Galeria Kaufhof. So many noses were pressed against the windows it was hard to see sometimes.

transportation from Munich to Salzburg

Please could anyone help us. We are flying into Munich on Sep 2 and arriving at 11 am. My husband (age 82) is all uptight about taking a train from the airport to salzburg. I'm trying to find a private driver that would be reasonable. Does anyone have a suggestion. Thank you for your help. Betty
