"Germany Voted as Most Positive Country When Viewed Globally"

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-22624104

So says a BBC survey that asked people in EU countries plus 16 other countries about there views of these countries and Germany came out tops, coming a long long ways from the days of Nazism, etc.

Canada was #2 and the U K 3rd - USA 7th, trailing #4 Japan and #5 France and even #6 Brazil (perhaps the World Cup influenced Brazil's positive glow?)

Least positively viewed - Iran, Israel and North Korea.

I do.
But I don't want to use up too much space here to leave room for the usual suspects ;-)

The fieldwork was in 2013. So was the BBC story. This posting is ancient history, though news does take time to spread to Detroit.

FWIW: the only country likely to be influenced by "big event" afterglow all that time ago would have been Britain (2012 Olympics).

Actually the one I referenced was released in 2013 - but this 2nd study by the BBC in 2014 also says Germany!

In another poll I saw about what countries have the most positive view of the U S, Germany was tops at 93% expressing a favorable view of America!

Prost! I'll drink to that!
