Christmas decorations?

I'm leaving for Paris tomorrow, the 22nd and am hoping to bring back Christmas tree ornaments (which I've collected from my world travels). Does anyone have suggestions on where to find them? I'm hoping it's not too early...

Try the department stores. They had lovely decorations last time I was over in an earlyy dec. We don't celebrate thanksgiving in Europe so Christmas decorations have started here in Ireland since 2 weeks ago..Its earlier each year. I am sure you will find a lot of unusual items.

Oh I just remembered a friend got some cute decorations in Museum shops as well.

I too bring back Christmas ornaments, and did my fair share of looking around for them while in Paris a few weeks ago. I did see some at both Galleries Lafayette and Printemps, although most looked like something I could have bought at home. I ended up buying a few that I found at some of the souvenir shops I popped into.

Good luck!

At this time last year, I found nice ones in the Christmas shop in Bon Marche (3rd floor I think??).

Also a shop in the Carousel du Louvre (shopping mall under the Louvre). Can't remember the name, but it carries a lot of craft supply items, and at Christmas, adds a great assortment of ornaments.

Happy shopping!

How long will you be in Paris? If you check out paris info.com it will tell you when the Christmas markets start in Paris. Maison De L Alsace 39 Champs-Elysees market starts 11-26-05. You will find handmade decorations at these markets.

The whole experience was magical. I'm hoping to have the same type of experience this year. Thanks for all the input everyone!

Strausbourg supposedly has a nice christmas market. I will be in Paris on Dec. 9th and may take a daytrip via train to there. It is supposedly one of the oldest x-mas markets. If travel companion isn't up to it, we may only make it as far as Reims and do their x-mas market and a champagne tour.

We'll be in Paris mid-January and I was hoping to find Christmas ornaments on sale (did this in London last year) - will that be too late?

Thanks!
